Sinister. Mr. Sinister. Daniel Craig To Play X-Men Baddie In Gambit?

If a recent rumor can be believed, then the man who hates being Bond so much that he's already played him 3 times, Daniel Craig, will be going from her Majesty's Secret Service to being the head of the Essex Corporation. Yes friends, Bond might be Mr. Sinister.

According to Splash Report, there are "conversations" about Daniel Craig signing on to play Nathaniel Essex, A.K.A. Mr. Sinister in Fox's latest chapter in the X-Men Universe, Gambit. Plus, they've even provided us with a synopsis of the plot. Salt at the ready. 

“Gambit is hired to do a job in Paris in which he has to steal something from the Louvre Museum. His mysterious employer is revealed to be Nathaniel Essex a.k.a. Mr. Sinister. He offers Gambit 40 million to recover a mysterious trunk that was stolen by the Boudreaux clan. It will be auctioned off during the yearly Thieves Ball where all the criminal organizations in the world meet up. It uses New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations as a cover. Gambit decides to enlist a crew of mutants to pull off this seemingly impossible heist”

So, a mutant Ocean's Eleven starring Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau? Sounds interesting, but I'm inclined to say the odds are stacked slightly the fuck against Gambit seeing the light of day. I think the future of all mutants depends on the success of the Dark Phoenix two-parter, and that's a potentially fucky situation for any mutant movie not starring Ryan Reynolds.
