Yoda Returns? Having A Cameo In The Last Jedi, He Might Be.
Hello nerds!
Outside of The Clone Wars animated show, we haven't seen Master Yoda in the Star Wars universe all that much in recent years. Well, thanks to a post on Facebook, we may now have confirmation of the plucky, little green Jedi Master's inclusion in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Digital Sputnik, is a lighting company that's worked on several major Hollywood blockbusters in the past, and recently they shared a trailer for a movie they worked on, Mary Magdalene, starring Joaquin Phoenix as Jesus Effing Christ (by the way and we've GOT to fucking talk about that and will. A lot), and felt the need to add in that in 2017 alone they, “have illuminated Jesus AND Yoda". Yeah, whoops is right. The original post was deleted, obviously, but as you can see below, someone snagged a screenshot. Obviously.
Apparently, Rian Johnson has more than a trick or two tucked up his sleeve. Yoda's inclusion has been highly speculated about ever since last spring, when the voice of Dagobah's favorite hermit, Frank Oz, was more than a little cagey when asked about Yoda's inclusion in The Last Jedi. Also, there have been rumors that soundstages were built specifically for puppetry in London, and the great and powerful Oz was in town to lend his voice.
When we take all of this into account, I can say without uncertainty or hyperbole, that we're in for perhaps one of the motherfucking greatest spectacles in film of all-time when Star Wars: The Last Jedi blasts into theaters on December 15, 2018.
