Hello nerds!

In the latest attempt to blatantly drive up the ratings with another meaningless stunt, AMC’s The Walking Dead has unshockingly decided NOT to kill Rick Grimes in what was heavily billed as Andrew Lincoln’s final episode as the character. However, while the show made it very clear Andrew Lincoln’s time on the weekly series is at an end, he is in no way done playing the rugged fan favorite just yet.

The Walking Dead executive producer, Scott Gimple, announced the current plan is for Lincoln to return as Rick Grimes in 3 big budget movies for the network; the first of which will deal with RIck’s time away from his family, as he deals with the aftermath from being saved by Jadis and her mystery helicopter at the end of “Rick’s last episode”.

Everything’s gotta belong to a universe these days. Nothing can just exist on its own.

While it was revealed some time ago, Andrew Lincoln would leave TWD so he could spend more time with his family, the actor doesn’t really sound like a guy who’s burnt out. In fact, he he actually sounds quite excited to be continuing on as the brooding zombie-slayer.

Maybe Andy, maybe.

Look, as entertaining as the prospect of Psycho Rick adventures would be, it feels a few years too late at this point. Especially, given the show’s plummeting ratings. However, the door is wide open for Rick to return to Alexandria at anytime and the impact would be huge, given how long he’s been away from his family. And thanks to the time jump and Whisperer tease at the end of episode, there is actually hope for some good storytelling in the future for Dead fans.

And speaking of storytelling, the Hilltop’s story actually got a lot smaller last night as well. As it turns our last night we said “goodbye’ to another long standing cast member. According to showrunner Angela Kang, Cohan's Maggie Greene won’t be around following the time jump, but they hope for her to return at some point. But I think Rick reappearing on the show first is more likely.

I’ve got $5 burning a hole in my pocket that says since he’s not actually leaving the Dead Universe, the ole cowboy rides in and saves the day before the end of Season 10.
