Hello nerds.

In yet another in a long line of "not good" news items from WB/DC, the long awaited Justice League Dark movie has lost yet its director. Again. I'm starting to sense a pattern with the films of the DCEU. Following the exit of Guillermo del toro, Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) is also off the project, but the studio is already hard at work getting a new batch of potential directors slapped together. 

Per a report from THR, the director of the IT reboot, Andy Muschietti, is on the list of hopefuls for the studio. I know that Liman leaving the movie, especially after he was talking about the new take on John Constantine we'd be seeing in the film, is a bit of a bummer. I think it might be fair to say, that the project's long running champion, GDT, leaving was a bigger shock.

However, while GDT leaving might have been attributed to "creative differences", apparently Liman leaving is due to scheduling conflicts,  as he's got a full slate of movies to direct in the near future. Everything we've seen of the IT so far looks terrifying, so WB could do a lot worse than Andy Muschietti. I think the only reservation outside of a lack of director is the writer, Michael Gilio, and that's only due to what some would call a "severe fucking lack" of writing credits. No real plot details are available, but movie is rumored to feature Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing and Etrigan the Demon. 

So, what do you think nerds? Should we continue to remain cautiously optimistic about what could've been a real edge for the DCEU among the vast array of superhero movies or has any excitement about the movie started to fade like Marty McFly watching his parents not dance together?
