Batfleck: Noir Detective. The Batman Offers A Different Take On The DCEU's Dark Knight?

Hello friends!

Remember when Batman was called "The World's Greatest Detective"? Me either, but fear not because director Matt Reeves remembers all too well. So much, in fact, he's hoping to take the character in a direction that we arguably haven't seen since the days of Michael Keaton in Gotham.

In an interview with New Trailer Buzz for War of the Planet of the Apes, when pressed for details Reeves reveals the somewhat fresh take he would go with the film. 

“There’s a chance to do an almost noir driven, detective version of Batman that is point-of-view driven in a very very powerful way, that will hopefully connect you to what’s going on inside of his head and inside of his heart,”

Out of all the Batmans we've seen so far, it sounds like Reeves could be the man who will bring us a true Dark Knight. He's the hero Gotham deserves and the fucking the one it needs right now. Here's hoping the studio gives him the freedom to actually do it.
