Disney Streaming Is Bringing The Marvel Magic. Scarlet Witch And Loki To Lead Their Own Shows
Hello nerds!
As if this week couldn’t get any better for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the folks over at Disney up the ante a tad.
Per a report from Variety, the Disney streaming service will feature a host of all-new, limited series for a few characters from the MCU who don’t have their own movies. Two of which will focus on Scarlet Witch and Loki, with both Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Hiddleston returning to the roles. Frickin’ sweet, I know, but wait there’s more.
Apparently, the budgets for these shows will be on par with the films of the MCU. There’s a lot to like about this news.
Holy shit. I was already sold on the Disney streaming service with the announcement of Jon Favreau’s Star Wars show alone, but when you add original shows focusing on MAJOR MCU characters, with their stars playing them? Sign me up.
Not to mention, these shows are going to be creatively driven by MCU head honcho, Kevin Feige. I’m hopeful the issues that plagued The Inhumans and some of the more questionable parts of the Netflix/MCU shows, won’t rear their ugly heads with him in charge.
