Does The Latest Infinity War TV Spot Confirm The Death Of *Spoiler*? It Sure Looks That Way.
Hello nerds!
If you've already listened to the latest podcast, then you know rumor has it one member of the Guardians of the Galaxy will meet their doom by way of the Mad Titan during Infinity War. Sadly, one brief moment in this new TV spot seems to confirm it.
The moment in question happens around 0:24 seconds into the the latest TV spot for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, and while others are assume it shows a fight between Star-Lord and Iron Man, those of us paying attention realize the scene depicts something, much, much worse. Turn back now if you don't want to be spoiled.
Did you catch it? The blink and you'll miss it moment between Quill and Stark? From an initial glance, it could easily be misinterpreted as the leaders of the Avengers and the Guardians having a physical confrontation, but pay close attention to Star-Lord's face.
Look at the pain and anguish on Quill's face. That's the look one only has when they experience the loss of a loved one. In this instance, sadly it's Gamora. See, the Soul Stone can only obtained if Thanos sacrifices something he loves, like his "favorite daughter". So, Gamora doesn't make it through Infinity War, and not only does she get killed by Thanos in the comics, her death lines up with the big Nebula big arc throughout Infinity War and Avengers 4 that's been confirmed to take place. Still not convinced? Well, there's more.
We know for a fact Chris Evans is officially done playing Cap, and it's more than safe to say he dies in Infinity War. Well, thanks to some leaked set photos from the filming of Avengers 4, we can assume time travel will be utilized. Assumingly, the survivors of Infinity War will have to go to great lengths to defeat Thanos, which includes venturing back in time to rebuild the team.
Lending credence to this theory are the facts the leaked photos not only show Captain America in his Avengers 1 suit, but also Gamora sporting her suit from GotG1. Taking all of this into account, along with the Zoe Saldana's more than busy schedule with other projects (like the thousands Avatar sequels they're making), I think the Guardians will be down their fiercest warrior when Infinity War ends.
Emergency tissues at the ready, friends. This one's going to be an emotional punch to the nethers.
Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters on April 27, 2018.
