Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Looks Magical AF! The Official Trailer Is Here!

Hello nerds!

Have your wands at the ready, because we're going back to the Wizarding World. Courtesy of the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Twitter, the first trailer for the film has been released. From the looks of things, Newt Scamander will have a big role in the Dumbledore v. Grindelwald smackdown.

Intriguing, yeah? Admittedly, I'm a huge fan of the Wizarding World and I'm terribly excited for a return. Some HP purists have a bit of an issue with any material from that world, which doesn't feature The Boy Who Lived, but I enjoyed Fantastic Beasts 1. By and large, I think I could really enjoy The Crimes of Grindelwald as well, if it weren't for one little issue. Johnny Depp.

Depp hasn't really given a shit about what he's doing in a film since what, Pirates 1? So, the thought of sitting through another snore-inducing Depp movie is irritating as fuck. Let alone all of the baggage he brings from his personal life and general douchery. While the scuzzy one wasn't featured sparingly in the trailer, you've got to figure he's in a ton of the film. After all, his character's name is in the title.

Maybe the studio has found a way to minimize his role in the film and they'll use him like the shark in jaws. Ominous music and barely a flash of the dark wizard. Whatever they do, I'm sure the joy that the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Dan Fogler and Jude Law inspire will be enough for us to conjure a Patronus powerful enough to smite the Depp-mentor.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald apparates into theaters on November 16, 2018.
