Green Goblin Returns? Norman Osborn Could Be Headed To The MCU

Hello friends!

We’ve seen a couple of different versions of the Green Goblin on the big screen throughout Spider-Man’s various incarnations, so it made sense the studio would shelve the Spider-Man baddie in favor of lesser known villains, aka The Vulture. Well, as it happens we may in fact be seeing Norman Osborn make his make his MCU debut a lot sooner than we dared dream.

According to a rumor from GWW, Marvel is searching for an actor to be the new big bad in the next phase of Marvel movies, and based on the description, longtime fans of Spider-Man’s most famous villain could be very pleased.

It’s not the biggest leap of faith to make, and when you consider that Oscorp might have been in the trailer for Spider-Man:Far From Home, we might be reintroduced to Norman Osborn very soon.

For those unfamiliar, and for lack of a better comparison, Norman Osborn is basically Marvel’s evil Lex Luthor/Bruce Wayne. A super-rich, super-brilliant villain, who is as evil as he is charismatic. Not to mention, his alter ego of the Green Goblin; a sadistic maniac who possesses superhuman strength and speed, and he flies around on a hoverboard that’s armed like a tank.

In short, Norman Osborn is as about as perfect as it gets to be the overarching villain of the MCU for the foreseeable future. And who doesn’t want to see Spider-Man fighting the Green Goblin again?

Besides, with Venom building an intriguing world for Spider-Man to play in after his time is up in the MCU, the world of the web-slinger on the big screen is showing no signs of slowing down. So, we better get used to it. Tom Holland could be the new Hugh Jackman, in terms of superhero longevity.

Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2, 2019.
