Hello nerds!

The very first season of “Stranger Things” premiered on Netflix in the summer of 2016, with the second season arriving the following October. Now, it's been confirmed the wait for Season 3 will be even longer than expected. Season 3 is set for arrival in Summer 2019. Dude. 

During the Television Critics Association’s press tour, Netflix programming executive Cindy Holland announced the third season of Stranger Things would not be available in time for Halloween. Which sucks, because if there's a show on Netflix that is a perfect match for Halloween, it's the horror/sci-fi-fantasy nostalgia trip that is Stranger Things. 

Who do they think they are by taking so long to churn out a season, Game of Thrones? But, seriously. Both shows last aired new episodes in 2017 and will not premiere new ones until 2019. Shit, that's a bummer. Admittedly, it's more of a bummer for GOT, but still no new Stranger Things on Netflix for Halloween feels a bit, well strange.

The Duffer Brothers must be putting together one hell of a new adventure for the psycho-kinetic hero Eleven aka Jane, her adopted father Chief Hopper and the rest of most lethal D&D guild of all-time. The delayed this season will take place in 1985, the glorious year that brought us The Goonies, New Coke and the Nintendo Entertainment System. So, there's a mountain of potential pop culture references to choose from for new season full of fun; not to mention the monsters and general creepiness of the Upside Down. 

And speaking of fun, Netflix released a delightful little teaser of sorts that oozes '85. One of the newly-favorite sons of Hawkins, Indiana co-stars in an advertisement for the opening of Starcourt Mall. It's so damn good, so enjoy it because it's the only new Stranger Things we're getting this year.
