He Ain't Afraid Of Netflix. Dan Aykroyd Says A Ghostbusters Streaming Series Is Possible

Hello nerds!

Ghostbusters creator and OG member of the squad, Dan Aykroyd, recently shared some interesting thoughts on where and in what format his beloved property could wind up and the only question I have is, "Why?".

While speaking with CinemaBlend, Aykroyd says he could see Ghostbusters on the Netflix as a series and that it could take some cues from the gargantuan hit that is Stranger Things.

Oh boy... Look, like almost everyone out there, I love the Ghostbusters, but maybe they should let it be for a bit. The Ghostbusters franchise hit a bit of a slump with Ghostbusters 2 and it arguably continued with the 2016 reboot, so the idea of a series seems more than a bit optimistic at this point. As nice of an idea as a new live-action series is, there's a multitude of problems with the "younger days" premise; least of which being it would likely not feature Winston Zeddemore, ghosts or the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Besides, there are other projects that are being developed for the franchise. Ghostbusters producer and director, Ivan Reitman, is currently working on both an all-new TV show and film. However, don't get your hopes up too much because they're both animated, which might be the best course for our beloved boys in grey. For now.
