Holy direction Batman! DC/WB's The Batman Finally Finds a Director

Quick recap.

Ben Affleck was set to direct The Batman, but only under the caveat that he would do so if the script were good and then he promptly announced he wasn't going to direct. The studio then turned to Matt Reeves and were in talks with him, but apparently he walked away and the search continued.

Well, it looks like we've finally got a director in one Matt Reeves, and he offered the usual pleasantries about his love of the character.

Reeves is no stranger to big budget movies that some view of the poopy end of the scale, so hiS signing on isn't really surprising one way or the other. He's a guy who might actually be perfect for a movie like this where he can basically point and shoot whatever the studio tells him to. He's very technically capable and can pull off huge action sequences, so the movie will LIKELY look cool as hell. The story on the other hand is the real issue. when will theY give us all the versions of the characters we love? Who DO WE blame? Is it DC Comics' cOO Geoff Johns or WB executive vp Jon Berg? It's about time we got answers.

At this point it's more than difficult to get excited for any news related the films of the DCEU, so let's file this one under "Acknowledged". Ah, The Batman. Why do you vex us so?
