Is It Frickin' October Yet? Halloween 2018 Honors The Original With A One-Shot Sequence

Danny McBride and David Gordon Green have really done their homework with regards to one of the greatest scenes in John Carpenter’s Halloween from 1978. Prepare for even more reason to rush out and see Halloween 2018 when it hits theaters.
The tone for the entire film of the original Halloween was set in the first four minutes of the film. In a one-shot tracking scene, that follows young Michael Myers as he stalks through his house and ultimately ends up brutally murdering his sister. It was masterfully done and you instantly are under the impression that any fucking thing can happen and you should consider no on safe. Well, it turns out the 2018 sequel written by Danny McBride and David Gordon Green will pay homage to Carpenter's original by doing a one of their own.
While speaking with Cinema Blend at this year's SDCC, director David Gordon Green revealed his movie would also include an one-shot tracking scene, that would see the adult Michael doing some, "trick-or-treating of his own". Fuck, that's terrifying.
Exciting indeed. The trailer for sequel/franchise reboot to 1978's Halloween was fucking fantastic and shows a more deranged Michael Myers than we've grown accustomed to as of late.
For those unaware, Halloween 2018 ignores every other movie, that came before it other than the original. Which is a great call, as the franchise fell right the hell off the tracks in most, or arguably all, of the sequels. Yes, this include the Rob Zombie versions. So, I'm thinking this latest reboot of the franchise just might be the one to restore it to the glory of the 1978 classic.
Yes, McBride and Gordon Green are mainly known for their comedic work, but they did receive the blessing of creator John Carpenter, which is very surprising considering how much he shits on just about anything to do with the Halloween movies that he wasn't part of.
Halloween slices and dices its way into theaters on October 19, 2018.
