One Returning Face And A Few New Ones Join The Matrix 4!
Hello nerds!
The cast for the upcoming fourth installment of the Matrix franchise is really starting to take shape.
Per a report from Deadline, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, and the previously announced Yahya Abdul-Mateen II have all signed on to Warner Bros.' newest Matrix movie. Sadly, no details as to whom they’ll be playing are available.
On the brightside, one of the original trilogies baddest badasses, Jada Pinkett Smith, is in talks to return as Niobe. No word yet if the great Laurence Fishburne will return as Morpheus, but one can hope. It’d be a real treat to see Morpheus, Trinity and Neo reunite on the big screen.
For those unfamiliar, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are also reprising their iconic roles in this one. And if that wasn’t enough to lure you back to life in the digital realm, Lana Wachowski will return to direct, as well as write the script for the film with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell.
The original Matrix trilogy is arguably one of the greatest Sci-Fi franchises of all-time, and the pieces are coming together for another potentially great Sci-Fi action movie. With the bulk of what made those movies special coming back, and given what can be done with CGI these days, The Matrix 4 could kick all of the ass.
Production is slated to start early next year, so a 2021 release is likely.
