RPatz Is The Batz. Robert Pattinson Is Set To Star In The Batman

Hello nerds!

We have our new Caped Crusader for Matt Reeves’ forthcoming, The Batman, and as many assumed based on previous rumor, Robert Pattinson has signed on to play the Dark Knight. And if a rumor accompanying the news of his casting is to be believed, Batman will have his trusty sidekick along for the ride in this one

Per a report from Forbes, when Robert Pattinson suits up as Bruce Wayne aka Batman, he’ll be fighting alongside none other than his longtime partner/ward/protege, Robin aka Dick Grayson. Which is handy, since the report also states the dynamic duo will be facing a veritable rogue’s gallery of classic Bat-baddies.

I don’t know that I’ve been quite so interested in a Batman movie since 1992’s Batman Returns. As some of you may know, big screen Batman has long been missing one of the most crucial elements from the comics; the utter madness that is Gotham and its inhabitants.

For years, fans of my beloved Gotham have been spoiled by with almost every Batman character created. While the show may have had its critics, Gotham arguably presented some of the oddest and most fantastic takes on some of these characters to date. From the Joker to Solomon Grundy, the weird and sinister villains from Gotham were all there, and it’s about time the movie versions followed suit. I’m hoping Reeves and crew are out to present a truly fresh take on Batman, and Pattinson’s casting is a very intriguing start.

With the loss of 3/6 of the original members of the Justice League, one has to wonder if this new Batman will appear in a future superhero teamup movie alongside Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Aquaman. Or maybe he’ll end up going one on one with the fantastic looking Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix. Time, and box office, will tell.

WB/DC’s The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
