Hello nerds!

If the trailer is any indication, we should be in for an entertaining experience next summer when Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds hits the screen.

From Disney/20th Century Fox, Free Guy tells the tale of Guy, played by Deadpool himself, who is a NPC (Non-Playable Character) in a video game called Free City; the kind of open world game one finds just about everywhere these days.

Well, courtesy of a mysterious woman known as Molotov Girl and some magic glasses, Guy figures out he only exists in a video game. And to make matters worse, the creator of Free City has decided to pull the plug on the game. So, Guy takes his digital destiny into his own hands and becomes the hero his world needs. Think Grand Theft Auto meets Wreck It Ralph, with a splash of They Live. Simply put, it looks like it could be a pretty good popcorn movie to end the summer with.

Directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Joe Keery, and Taika Waititi, Free Guy crashes into theaters on August 13, 2021.
