"Scott Buck's Worst Work Yet". Reviews For The First Episode of Marvel's Inhumans Are Less Than Favorable

Hello nerds!

Well, it seems the curse of Scott Buck continues. A couple of reviews for the premiere episode of Marvel's The Inhumans have surfaced over at Spoiler TV, and the consensus rating is a paltry 3 out of 10. Shit.

There was a lot of hope for this pilot and it did not live up to expectations. Not even a strong cast could breath life into the cringe worthy script they were given. There are some decent moments, but they are few and far between. For the most part this is a big miss for Marvel. There is still hope subsequent episodes can save the series, but the pilot is massively disappointing. (Aimee Hicks | 8/4/2017)

Simply awful. I’m so disappointed since I generally love everything Marvel does. But this is absolutely terrible. The dialogue is atrocious. The fight sequences are shockingly choreographed. The sets (or more-so the obvious green-screen) aren’t that crash hot either. It’s only saving grace is Lockjaw who is adorable. As one of the few people that actually liked Iron Fist, I can easily say that this is Scott Buck’s worst work yet. (Tyler | 8/3/2017)

I think at this point, we're arguably looking at Marvel's first total swing and a miss and you've got to think that there will be some major changes made before the second season. A second season is likely, given the amount of money invested in the production offices that Marvel built in Hawaii. However, before we get too far ahead of ourselves, Marvel must first address the source of the issues and much like Iron Fist on Netflix before its second season, Scott Buck will be ushered out.

Say what you will about Iron Fist, but there were a few hope spots amongst the dreck. With the second season of Iron Fist being announced at SDCC, it's not all that shocking that Buck was replaced as showrunner by Raven Metzner and for good reason. Metzner is a vast improvement over Buck having served as showrunner and producer on such TV shows as Sleepy Hollow and Falling Skies.

I know that we should try and reserve judgement until we've seen the entire season, but you only have to get so close to a poo before you smell it and this thing's been stinking since jump. What do you think?
