Sink Your Teeth Into The Teaser For BBC's Dracula
Hello nerds!
Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are at it again. The minds behind the 2005 relaunch of Doctor Who, and Sherlock, are giving the vampire genre a go by re-telling the origin story of the granddaddy of all bloodsuckers.
BBC’s Dracula starring Claes Bang as the titular monster, will focus on the events of Stoker’s original novel; Count Dracula arrival in Victorian London and his subsequent wreaking of utter havoc. Based on both Moffat and Gatiss’ writing talents for the supernatural, aliens, and superintelligent dickwads, Dracula seems like the perfect story for them to reboot.
For some, myself included, this series will undoubtedly bring the cinema classic from 1992, Bram Stoker's Dracula to mind. Unfortunately, there’s not one bit of Keanu Reeves or Gary Oldman in this three-part series, but let’s hold that against it. In fact, from the looks of the trailer, we could be in for quite an entertaining viewing experience.
Sadly, there’s no premiere date as of yet. However, given the trailer arrived just in time for Halloween, a Christmas release for the series is likely. Dracula will air on BBC in the United Kingdom, and on Netflix just about everywhere else.
