Stitches Returns! Teddy Bears Are For Lovers Is Headed To The Big Screen

Hello nerds!

If you've seen "Teddy Bears Are For Lovers", then you're bound to love this. One of the people responsible for some of the greatest films of the 80s is adapting the hilarious horror-comedy short into a feature length film. With proper budget, FX and everything.

Director Joe Dante (The Howling, Piranha, Gremlins. Right?) will executive produce TBAFL and cinematographer Michael Bonvillain will make his directorial debut on the film from Endless Media. Word has it, Peter Jackson’s Weta Workshop is being eyed to create the murderous quasi-Muppets.

The original short is about a guy named Colin, who seems to be a bit of a prick. One night Colin and current girlfriend Sarah are attacked by killer teddy bears. As it turns out, they were all gifts from Collin to his jilted exes. Well, based upon the synopsis, the feature length-film looks to expand the mythos a bit.

They had me and my money at "bloodthirsty, but adorable teddy bears".

For those of you who haven't seen the original Teddy Bears Are For Lovers, please do so at this time. It's delightful.
