Superhumans Beware! The First Teaser For Amazon's The Boys Is Superb

Hello nerds!

After the release of the ridiculously awesome official poster for Amazon’s The Boys based on the brilliant comic by Garth Ennis, we’ve got the first teaser for the show. It’s brief, but fantastic nonetheless.

Starring Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as "Wee" Hughie Campbell, Karen Fukuhara as The Female, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk Tomer Kapon as The Frenchman, The Boys take place in world where superhumans exist and as people do, sometimes they go too far. Meaning they kill people, do terrible things, have vices , etc.

Well, when these supers need to be policed, a CIA backed group of superpowered mercs known as The Boys beat the holy hell out of them until they see the error in their ways or die. Whichever happens first. Some of this world’s supers are truly disgusting, and as it turns out, a few of the worst happen to be in the top echelon of superhero teams, The Seven.

This world’s version of the Justice League or The Avengers are a corporate sponsored superhero team comprised of heroes who might not be as altruistic as they portray themselves to be and it’s this group who ultimately finds themselves in the crosshairs of The Boys. And vice versa.

So, now you get the basic gist of the comic, please enjoy the first teaser and see just how well Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg turned another one of Ennis’ other comics, into what looks like an utterly fascinating and completely entertaining show (the other being AMC’s Preacher, BTW).

All the yays!

Rogen and Goldberg have put together a spectacular cast, and with a pretty decent budget and an absolute wealth of some of the most bonkers stories you’ll ever see about superheroes, The Boys should be a must see show for years to come.

And if you needed any further encouragement to see this show Simon Pegg has joined the cast as Wee Hughie's father, and for fans of the comic, this is a real treat. The Cornetto Trilogy star is actually the inspiration for Hughie's appearance and it was always a dream that if The Boys went live-action, Pegg would play him. So, it’s a really cool easter egg of sorts, plus, we might see a Star Trek reunion i this show if Pegg and Karl Urban share any screen time together.

Sadly, there’s now premiere date for The Boys, but it’s likely the show will release at some point next year.
