Sweep The Leg And Break A Hip. The First Trailer For Cobra Kai Kicks Mild Ass
Hello nerds!
The 2018 All-Valley Karate Championship better add a Seniors division, because Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso are about get all '84 on each other. The first "trailer" for YouTube Red's Cobra Kai is surprisingly pretty light on plot details and it oddly paints the show in a more serious tone than what we were led to believe.
For those unfamiliar, Cobra Kai finds a down on his luck Johnny Lawrence reopening the Cobra Kai dojo. This in turn kickstarts his long dormant feud with "The Kid" himself, Daniel LaRusso. And it's supposed to be a comedy.
Doesn't really give off much of a comedy vibe, does it? No matter what genre this show falls under, I find myself exceedingly intrigued. The Karate Kid is actually a fantastic choice for a revival, and given the ages of the leads now, it'll be hilarious to see a couple of old dudes doing karate.
Plus, getting William Zabka and Ralph Macchio to return as two of the most dangerous karate practitioners to roam the Valley in '84 is a huge fucking bonus. Although I'm still not sure I'll actually watch the show.
Cobra Kai will be exclusively on YouTube Red. And who really wants to deal with that shit?
