Tarantino Is Boldly Going Where Nobody Has Gone Before. It's R-Rated Star Trek, Mothfucker!
Hello nerds!
According to a report from Deadline, Paramount Pictures has hired Mark L. Smith to write the script for Quentin Tarantino's upcoming R-rated Star Trek movie.
Smith is best known for Alejandro González Iñárritu's The Revenant, so you've got to be excited for his involvement in the film, which will see Tarantino direct and co-produce J.J. Abrams. What the shit? Wow!
If Tarantino does direct the movie, it would be his tenth feature film, and per his retirement plan that will make it his last. Needless to say, I think we can expect for this movie to be his boldest yet and seeing as it's a Star Trek film, I'm both terribly intrigued and a bit nervous.
There are zero plot details to speak of at this point. In fact, all we really know is that it will be R-Rated and since Tarantino has more than a passing affinity for all things retro, I think the 60s/70s-crazed director just might take us on the most absolutely fucking insane thrill ride, that we didn't know we needed. Fingers crossed that they sign Leonardo DiCaprio as Kirk and Samuel L. Jackson as McCoy.
I cannot fucking wait to see it.
