Thank The Old Gods & The New. Guess Who Might Have Survived The Season 7 Finale Of Game Of Thrones?
Greetings nerds!
We've only got a half dozen episodes left of HBO's Game of Thrones and they can't get here fast enough. The Season 7 finale ended with more than its fair share of cliffhangers, so it's a relief to find out two characters who were actual "cliffhangers", seemingly survived.
Last we saw Beric Dondarrion and Tormund Giantsbane, they were trying to evacuate Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, before the Night King showed up with the army of the dead to eff shit up. Well, show up they did and not only that, but the Night King was riding a fucking ice dragon (RIP Viserion). Pants shitting stuff, I know, and as we had always expected The Wall fell and winter has officially returned to Westeros.
And as the everything turned to shit, Beric and Tormund were hauling every inch ass at their respective disposals, trying to get to safety as they were on The Wall as it fell. Obviously. This being Game of Thrones, their fate was never confirmed before the end of the episode, and we feared the worst. Happy it turns out the plucky duo of sword-swinging warriors likely made it to safety. Well, relative safety. I imagine the army of the dead is still ambling around them as they pass through the remnants of the castle and wall, on their way to Winterfell.
Well, in HBO trying to nab an Emmy for the show, it submitted this very episode, "The Dragon and the Wolf" for consideration. this means the script for the whole episode is available online, and it's the lack of grisly details about Beric and Tormund that make me think they're going to be just fine.
Right? Granted, the script doesn't explicitly state Tormund and Beric are alive, but it also doesn't say they're definitely dead. And again, this being Game of Thrones, we would definitely know if two of the most well-liked characters were both killed. Especially, if they died at the same time. So, I'm more than inclined to say we'll be seeing Tormund and Beric in the forthcoming eighth and final season which will be full of the usual twists and turns.
Besides the rumored new baby for one of the main Houses and the possibility of The Kingslayer becoming a White Walker, the last season of Game of Thrones will be bonkers. Even if the premiere date is a annoyingly vague.

Looking forward to Better Call Saul, a new trailer Sony's Venom, winter is coming this spring with the last season of Game of Thrones, Star Wars Episode IX news and the over the top absurdity of the 1978 Holiday Special. #LifeDayIsForWookiePorn
