That's More Like It. Iron Fist Shows Off Some Improved Kung Fu Skills In The Season 2 Teaser

Hello nerds!

As much of a bummer as it is the films of the MCU won't be at this year's San Diego Comic-Con is, at least one the shows of the MCU is there to represent. Some of the cast and crew from Marvel's Iron Fist on Netflix were in attendance and they delivered some great surprises.

The panel for Iron Fist announced the release date for the second season, they revealed Alice Eve's mystery character and a lot of footage was shown that includes a major spoiler. Plus, we've got this delightful little teaser of what to expect when Iron Fist returns to defend Hell's Kitchen.

Spoiler: Following the events of The Defenders, everyone is still under the impression that Daredevil is dead, so until Season 3 of his show begins, Hell's Kitchen is very much Danny Rand's to protect.

Rad. The current Iron Fist aka Danny Rand definitely deserved better than he got in his first season and during most of The Defenders. He came off as a more than unfinished work and the action scenes he had were atrocious and featured a heavy dose of over-editing. Thankfully, Cheo Hodari Coker fixed a lot of those problems when Power Man and Iron Fist reunited during Luke Cage Season 2.

From the looks of things, the new and improved version of Danny Rand is here to stay because the vastly improved fight choreography that we saw in LCS2 will only get better for Danny Rand in his second season, because Marvel turned to a truly amazing coordinator for help.

During Marvel's Livestream Q&A from SDCC, it was revealed that Black Panther fight choreographer Clayton Barber also worked as the Iron Fist stunt coordinator for the entire second season. Fuck yeah! Black Panther boasts some of the best fight choreography in the MCU to date, so Barber is a natural selection to be in charge of Iron Fists's martial arts abilities.

In fact, Barber stated Jackie Chan was a major inspiration for the fighting style in the second season, because they're going for an old school vibe.

Oh, I believe we will enjoy it good sir.

Joining Finn Jones as Danny Rand are Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Simone Missick as Misty Knight. Let's hope we get some more development of the Daughters of the Dragon that we've seen sprinkled in here and there.

Also, Jessica Stroup is back as Joy Meechum and she'll be bringing Alice Eve into the fray as the comics villain Typhoid Mary and unsurprisingly Sacha Dhawan is back as Davos. However, he'll be a bit different this time around. It was revealed that Davos is now the Steel Serpent as he's got an "Iron Fist" all his own. Maybe he found another dragon somewhere?

Plus, we'll get to see the fight between Danny and Davos that determined who would face the dragon, Shou-Lao, and become the protector of K'un-Lun. I can't friggin' wait.

Season 2 of Marvel’s Iron Fist premieres on Netflix on September 7, 2018.
