This Makes Me Feel All Oogy. Annie Wilkes Arrives In The Trailer For Castle Rock Season 2

Hello nerds!

The second season of Hulu’s fantastic series, Castle Rock, is going to be one for the cockadoody books.

For those unfamiliar, Castle Rock is an anthology series set in the world of Stephen King’s novels, and as you can imagine, King’s particular brand of horror, humor, and suspense are weaved masterfully in this series. Which is surprising, given King himself actually has nothing to do with the series.

Writers and creators of Castle Rock, Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, have tapped into King’s unique style, as the stories they told in the first season were fantastically creepy. The first season featured elements and characters from The Shining, Needful Things, and The Shawshank Redemption.

Needless to say, it was entirely entertaining; thanks in no small part to the brilliant performances of stars André Holland and Bill Skarsgärd. So, I was very pleased when a second season was announced. And now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m terribly intrigued. Even though it doesn’t feature killer clowns, pets rising from the grave, or a haunted hotel, this new season should offer plenty of the creepiness and horror King fans are accustomed to.

The second season of Castle Rock focuses on Misery’s murderous nurse, Annie Wilkes, as she arrives in Castle Rock, right when a feud breaks out between warring clans. This time around, the eerie Annie Wilkes will be played by Lizzie Kaplan, and as a bonus, Shawshank Redemption star Tim Robbins also stars in this new season.

Castle Rock Season 2 premieres on October 23, 2019 on Hulu.
