Us Too, Danny. Halloween 2018 Co-Writer Hopes It Doesn't Ruin Your Childhood

Hello nerds!

From all the images we've seen and the fantastic trailerthis latest sequel/reboot of the Halloween franchise from Danny McBride and David Gordon Green looks like a true return to form for Michael Myers. And while the same can't be said for all reboots, at least one of the creative forces behind this sequel/reboot is keenly aware of the trappings involved with rebooting a property that people really frickin' love.

While speaking to IndieWire, Danny McBride revealed that in the wake of recent franchise reboots essentially, "ruining" childhoods, he hopes the same wont hold true for his reboot of John Carpenter's Halloween.

Oh, I think we'll be pleased. From the one-shot tracking scene where we'll see Michael Myers do some "trick-or-treating" of his own, to Halloween 2018 ignoring every other sequel that came before it, everything we've seen from this movie looks like just the thing we need to get our fright on this fall. This latest reboot/sequel just might be enough to restore Michael Myers to the top of the horror genre.

Halloween hacks its way into theaters on October 19, 2018.
