We're In For An International Spy Thriller! Here's The Teaser For Black Widow

Hello nerds!

The first teaser for Marvel Studios’ Black Widow has arrived, and the highly anticipated movie looks to start Phase 4 off with a bang.

Directed by Cate Shortland and starring Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, the film takes place during the time between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, and we may get to further explore Widow’s origin story.

The trailer includes shots of Natasha being generally badass across the globe, and we meet some of her team in this film by way of Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Rachel Weisz as Melina, and David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian. Plus, we get a brief glimpse of the film’s villain, The Taskmaster; likely it’s after he encounters Hawkeye, given the baddie is shooting a bow in the teaser.

For those unfamiliar, Taskmaster is slightly superhuman, and he has photographic reflexes. Basically, he’s a mild-super soldier assassin, who can instantly copy the fighting styles of anyone he lays eyes on. He’s more than formidable AF. So, Natasha Romanoff’s solo outing should be quite the spectacle.

And if all that wasn’t enough, the teaser didn’t even show any of the Avengers rumored to appear; including the MCU return of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

Marvel’s Black Widow blasts into theaters on May 1, 2020.
