Who Cares What They Call It? Michael Myers Returns In Halloween 2

Hello nerds!

Ah, autumn. It really is the best time of the year as it brings with it the changing of the leaves, crisp weather, a deluge of pumpkin-spiced everythings, and serial killer carnage. And speaking of, fans of the Danny McBride and David Gordon Green's Halloween 2018 are really going to be looking forward to next year’s season of the witch.

According to Collider, director David Gordon Green will direct the latest film to be called Halloween 2, which goes into production later this year. And he’s not the only familiar face coming back as the OG Sarah Connor of horror movies Laurie Strode, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, has also been tapped to return. The report also states Andi Matichak and Judy Greer should also be back in their respective roles. Halloween 2018 made a ton of money ($255 million), and given it’s more than open ending, a sequel seemed inevitable.

From the one-shot tracking scene to Michael Myers trick-or-treating, Danny McBride & David Gordon Green’s most recent reboot of John Carpenter’s Halloween was by no means the worst film of the franchise. By ignoring all the prior sequels to the original film from 1978, Halloween 2018 felt like a fresh direction considering how silly and stale the adventures of Michael Myers had gotten. The real question is, where do the duo of McBride and Green take the franchise now?

Universal currently has October 16, 2020 held for the release of an untitled Blumhouse movie. So, odds are that’s when Halloween 2 will hack its way into theaters.
