Oh, FXX yeah! Deadpool animated series for grownups is on the way!
Hello nerds. Like me, you've been unable to fill the Deadpool sized hole in your hearts ever since credits rolled on the live-action film. Fear not, for the Merc with the Mouth is making the leap to TV in his very own cartoon, by way of a ten episode first season due out next year. It's being created by friends to all nerds, Donald and Stephen Glover. Not only all that, but it's going to be on FXX and if you're unfamiliar with the network, it's home to some of the best adult comedy you can find on TV today, with such shows as Archer and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Needless to say, it's the perfect home for our beloved foul-mouthed regeneratin' degenerate.
Donald and Stephen will be more than involved in this show. Not only are they creating it, but they'll also serve as showrunners, writers and executive producers. From the Marvel side of the house, Marvel Television's Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb will also be executive producers and Loeb sounds really excited for this show.
No word yet on the voice cast, but since Zazie Beetz is one of the stars of the Glover's show, Atlanta, it stands to reason she'll lend her voice to Domino in the animated series. When you factor in Ryan Reynolds' love for Deadpool, I think it's more than likely that he'll suit up for this show. Afterall, it wouldn't be the first or worst animated suit he's ever worn. What do you think?
