From Padawan To Master In A Blink. Rian Johnson To Oversee An All-New Star Wars Trilogy!
Hello nerds!
In an quite surprising bit of news, it has been announced that Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer and director, Rian Johnson, will write and direct a brand new trilogy of Star Wars films. Holy shit, right? Well, prepare yourselves as this new trilogy will indeed NOT focus on the Skywalkers. Bum bum buuuuummmmmmmm...
Apparently, the new George Lucas will introduce an entirely new host of characters, who hail from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored. Details! We. Need. Details. Unfortunately, any juicy tidbits of info like plot or characters are currently far, far away, but at least those involved sound pretty damn excited. President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, seems convinced that Johnson is the person to take control of the Star Wars films for the foreseeable future.
The one lingering question is, "What about the Skywalkers?". Does this new direction definitely mean that Rey is not a Skywalker? Does Kylo Ren not count since he's a Solo? Where and when will these new films take place? Ok. So, maybe there are a few lingering questions, but perhaps the most important issue is one that Johnson himself brought up on his Twitter.
Trust me, Rian. We all hope that we will like it. And we're only a few weeks until we know for sure.
