Same Coma, Different Fantasy. Here's The Trailer For Archer: Danger Island
Hello nerds!
If you watch Archer, you know the last season ended with Archer still in his coma, fresh off an adventure as a private investigator in 1947, in the noir-ish Dreamland. Well, back during SDCC it was announced Archer's next coma dream would take the show to an island. Danger Island, to be exact.
The 9th season of Archer features Sterling (H. Jon Benjamin) as a drunken seaplane pilot and pits him and the gang against the inhabitants of an island in the South Pacific in 1939. Speaking of the gang, this time around Lana (Aisha Tyler) is Princess Lanaluakalani, Krieger (Lucky Yates) is a talking parrot named Crackers, Mother (Jessica Walter) is still mother, but she also owns the hotel in which Archer lives, Charlotte (Judy Greer) is an heiress marooned to the island, Cyril (Chris Parnell) is a German spy named Cypert Fuchs and Pam (Amber Nash) is still Pam, only now she's Archer's co-pilot.
And as luck would have it, we've got a trailer. Please, do enjoy it.
If you're thinking I'm a fan of this show, you're absolutely fucking correct. Although at first, I was iffy on the Tony Soprano-ish "coma episode" feel of Dreamland, it grew on me when I realized "Archer" was still "Archer". So, I am more than ready for a fantasy-based, old-timey island adventure with the world's greatest secret agent and his friends. Or should I say world's greatest seaplane pilot? Only a few weeks until we find out.
Archer: Danger Island premieres Wednesday, April 25 on FXX.
