Was The Original Show Scary? Here's The Trailer For Fantasy Island
Hello nerds!
Get ready for another reboot, as the classic TV series Fantasy Island, makes its way to the big screen. Only this time, it’s light on the campiness and heavy on the horror. Naturally.
For those who are unfamiliar, Fantasy Island was on TV a lifetime ago (the 70s and 80s), and the series focused on Mr. Roarke; the god-like owner of an island in the Pacific where vacationers have their wildest fantasies come true, but at a price. If you’re thinking tropical Twilight Zone, you’re not too far off. Most folks learned a lesson at the end of their tragic fantasies and returned to their lives with a renewed vigor.
However, from the looks of this trailer, I’m assuming some of the visitors to the island this time around will be slain by said fantasies. Being a Blumhouse movie, how could it not veer into the horror of that is the concept of the original series?
Starring Michael Pena, Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, Michael Rooker, Jimmy O. Yang, Austin Stowell, and Ryan Hansen, Fantasy Island splashes into theaters on February 14, 2020.
