Taken Bacon? Nicolas Cage Searches For His Beloved Pet In The Trailer For Pig

Hello nerds!

Following on the ridiculous fun of Willy’s Wonderland, show favorite Nicolas Cage is back with yet another truly entertaining looking movie. This time around, Cage looks to tug on our heartstrings more than he has in recent movies, but not to worry, there’s more than enough of his unique brand of Cageyness and action, as well.

From Cage’s Saturn Pictures, and co-written by director Michael Sarnoski and Vanessa Block, Pig tells the tale of a truffle hunter named Rob, played by a very shaggy-looking Cage, and his truffle sniffing pig as they live out their days alone in the wilds of Oregon. Naturally, the movie takes on a revenge-thriller feel after Rob gets the crap beaten out of him and awakens to find Pig has been stolen. It’s at this point, ole Rob goes full Rage Cage and tears through the Pacific Northwest to track down the pig-nappers and make them pay. Not that the film will be all action and no drama.

Lest we forget, Cage is an absolutely terrific actor and he has some serious dramatic chops that are on display in this one, as Pig also looks like an emotional ride. In addition to lots of grizzly bear Cage kicking ass, we take a closer look at how Rob’s life took him where it did and what he goes through we he loses the last thing he can call his own.

Pig starring Nicolas Cage, Alex Wolff, Adam Arkin, Gretchen Corbett, and Nina Belforte hits theaters on July 16, 2021.

A truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped.
