Want Anything From The Shop? Nick Frost and Simon Pegg Are Reuniting For A New Series

Hello nerds!

The dynamic duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are coming back together in a limited-run comedy-horror series for Amazon.

Truth Seekers is about a team of paranormal investigators, whom travel around the UK hunting ghosts, until they stumble upon a something even more frightening. Sounds like just the kind of laugh riot we’ve come to expect from these two.

They stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals using an array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos and share their adventures on an online channel. Their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, terrifying, and even deadly as the pair begin to uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the entire human race.

Frost is set to star as Gus, one of the intrepid ghost hunters, while Pegg is slated to play the enigmatic, Dave. Pegg and Frost will also write the series with Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz. For those unfamiliar, this will be the second project (first series) produced under Pegg and Frost’s Stolen Picture production company, following last year’s horror-comedy film, Slaughterhouse Rulez.

As far as the series itself, the stars of the series sounded elated to be working together again. Frankly, I’m happy for that as well. While speaking to Variety, First, Nick Frost had some pleasant words about the newest addition to Amazon’s growing original content library.

Simon, Miles and I, and everyone at Stolen Picture, are incredibly happy to be making ‘Truth Seekers’ with our new partners, Amazon Prime Video. It’s been nothing but a joyride in seeing this mad tale of paranormal conspiracy unfold in all its understated brilliance. Amazon’s commitment and support of the show, and of original programming generally, showed us that we couldn’t be collaborating with a bigger or better team.

Simon Pegg also sounds excited for the chance to work with Amazon again, following his turn as Wee Hughie’s father on the insanely good superhero series, The Boys.

Nick and I are delighted that ‘Truth Seekers’ has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special. These are truly exciting times for television, and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.

Nice. I absolutely adore nearly every film and TV series these two have been in, especially those they’ve done together.

So, there’s no reason to think this series won’t be more of the same hilarity. However, we should temper our elation over this series, because it will have a very BBC-length run at a paltry eight, half-hour episodes. For now. Let’s hope the series turns out to be wildly popular, and we can snag another season or two.

Truth Seekers starts production this Fall.
