Suicide Squad Vs Black Adam? In The DCEU, It Makes Perfect Sense
Hello nerds!
Last spring, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, teased that there was a surprise in the works as to exactly when and where his villainous Black Adam will turn up, and as it so happens he wasn't effing around.
Per a report from The Wrap, the possible future presidential candidate is set to make his DCEU debut as the god-like Black Adam as the villain of, breathe, Suicide Squad 2. Yes, it's once again villains vs villain. Well, anti-heroes vs anti-hero. According to The Great One, his take on Black Adam is that of an anti-hero, so I'm sure Suicide Squad 2 will make complete sense.
I know most of us would have rather seen Black Adam be the big bad of the forthcoming Shazam movie, which is still possible albeit unlikely. I know that Black Adam making his first ever appearance in the DCEU is better suited for Shazam (you know, his nemesis), but that would be the logical choice. And afterall, this is the DCEU, where the standing creative drive seems to be "fuck it". So, deuces logic.
Unless they plan to also debut Shazam in Squad 2, this movie will be even more of a mess than its predecessor, which is fucking saying something. Shazam and the equally powerful, Black Adam, should really only be rivalled by Superman himself, so I'm not sure how the nearly all human team of part-time baddies will be able to take the "weapon of mass destruction", that is Black Adam. At any rate, I'm sure it'll be captivating.
Suicide Squad 2 will be written and directed by Gavin O'Connor and is slated to head into production in October 2018.
