He rips and runs... right into Star Wars. Michael K. Williams cast in the Han Solo-rigin!

You read that right nerds. The man behind some of the best badasses to grace a television screen, Michael K. Williams, is set to join the Star Wars universe.

Per a report from Variety, the Emmy nominated actor has joined the cast of the upcoming Star Wars spin-off, Han Solo.

“The Wire” star Michael K. Williams is in final talks to join the upcoming Han Solo spinoff starring Alden Ehrenreich, Variety has learned exclusively.

The untitled Han Solo movie hits theaters May 25, 2018. Production is currently underway.

Details about Williams’ character are unknown, as are plot details for the movie, other then it being an origin tale of the rogue smuggler.

Plain and simple, this is awesome. Williams brings a more than impressive resume and you have to figure with his penchant for being a BAMF on-screen, he's likely to be a bad guy. Then again, in a film that film that's the origin story of a rogue smuggler, who's the good guy? Unfortunately, we won't find out until early next summer. Han Solo is currently slated for a May 25, 2018 release.
