A girl has mutant abilities. Maisie Williams is Wolfsbane in X-Men: New Mutants

Hello my friends. It appears as another Stark is leaving Westeros for the land of Mutants, Singer-style. Per a report from THR, Maisie Williams has been cast alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in the eagerly-anticipated awaited X-Men: New Mutants directed by Josh Boone. Maisie Williams will channel her inner direwolf as Rahne Sinclair / Wolfsbane and Taylor-Joy is Colossus' little sister,  Illyana Nikolievna Alexandria Rasputina / Magik.

I'm absolutely love the New Mutants and this casting news is pretty effing outstanding,  and it only gets me pumped to see who else will sign on to the team as we also now know which Xavier students will be on the team.

The pic will focus on the angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix will be an alien named Warlock.

Taylor-Joy will play Magik, a girl who has learned sorcery and uses teleportation discs to travel. She is also the sister of Colossus, an X-Man who appeared in Deadpool.

Williams will play Wolfsbane, a girl struggling to reconcile her religious beliefs with her power to turn into a wolf.

Josh Boone and his long-time writing partner Knate Gwaltney (Lee) will be writing the script. I realize these guys might not have a lot of credits to their names, but the optimism levels are still high for this film.

X-Men: New Mutants has a release date of April 13, 2018, so production should get rolling soon and that means we'll get more casting announcements in the near future. No plot details were given, but it's rumored the movie will adapt the incredible Demon Bear saga from the comics. So, that's awesome. What do you think?

The teaser was lukewarm, but the trailer is all fire. Fox's The Gifted official trailer is here!
