Finally! The X-Men And Fantastic Four Are Coming Home To The MCU!
Hello nerds!
A few weeks ago, we learned about a potential deal between Walt Disney Co. and 21st Century Fox that would see the House of Mouse take control of Fox's movie and TV studio, which would completely re-unite all of the Marvel characters. You're absolutely correct if you're smiling right now, because Disney just made our morning. Maybe even life because the deal is done. The X-Men and the Fantastic Four are finally coming home to Marvel Studios!
The Walt Disney Company has officially announced they have acquired 21st Century Fox's film and television studios, cable entertainment networks, and international TV businesses for a paltry $52.4 billion dollars, but the really exciting bit are the Marvel characters they reference by name in the announcement. Besides the ones we expected, the X-Men and Deadpool, surprisingly Marvel's first family is there as well. Yes friends, it looks like Disney put that work in and also secured the Fantastic Four. Plus, Avatar. Disney now owns Avatar.
So. Much. Fucking. Yay. And just in time for work to begin in the next phase of Marvel movies, following the events of Avengers 4. Not too long ago, I was pining away for an Avengers 4 post-credits scene featuring these returning heroes, and now it seems, not only entirely possible, but positively critical. The next phase of the MCU is going to be, and please forgive me for this... fucking EPIC!
