Here Comes Trouble. The X-Men and Fantastic Four Are Coming Home To The MCU!
Hello nerds!
Well, it's finally done. The deal that will see the return of every Fox-owned Marvel character return to the MCU has been finalized. Fuck. Yes.
Fox shareholders have agreed to the massive $71.3 billion acquisition deal that will see Disney take ownership of 20th Century Fox film and TV studios. And with the U.S. DOJ already approving the Disney/Fox merger, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get so motherufudging sweet.
Finalizing the merger will still take time, but don't let that stop the excitement from rolling over us like being smothered in an avalanche of puppy-hugs. The lost properties of the MCU, most notably the X-Men and Fantastic Four, now belong to Disney.
Holy shit! The Fantastic Four and X-Men are finally coming home to the MCU and just in time for the next phase to begin, following Avengers 4. Let the speculation as to when they'll show up in the movies or shows begin. Unfortunately, it's unlikely to happen this year. Or the next. However, we can hope hope the folks over at Marvel manage to sneak a few of these characters in before not too long.
A lovely little post-credits scene featuring Marvel's first family or maybe even just a shot of Wolverine's claws would do nicely. However, the most obvious, and honestly the most fun choice to show up first in the MCU is one Wade Wilson aka Deadpool.
