Good News, Bad News. Here's The First Teaser And New Release Date For Halloween Kills
Hello nerds,
For those eagerly anticipating Halloween Kills to hit theaters later this fall, this news might be a bit of a disappointment. But, at least there’s a trailer.
In a statement from John Carpenter (writer and director of the original 1987 Halloween) and David Gordon Green (co-writer and director of Halloween 2018), it’s been revealed the the next installment of Halloween franchise won’t be releasing this year as we all thought/hoped. Instead, the contouring adventures of Michael Meyers will hit theaters next year on October 15, 2021; which will also bump back the “final” film in the franchise, Halloween Ends, until October 14, 2022.
As much of a disappointment as this news might be, the powers that be have released the first teaser for Halloween Kills. While brief, it does confirm a bit about what we can expect to see in the movie. Much like the now non-canon Halloween 2 from 1981, Halloween Kills picks up moments after the events of Halloween 2018, as we see the surviving members of the Strode family making their escape only to realize the horror that’s headed in the opposite direction.
All in all, while Halloween 2018 was far from perfect, it is in no way the worst film of the franchise. So, I’m intrigued to see what Danny McBride and David Gordon Green have come up with for this newest “Halloween 2”. Especially, when it comes to the supremely bad ass Laurie Strode.
She kicked all of the ass in Halloween 2018, and considering she’s reuniting with other survivors of Michael Meyers’ original night of terror in this sequel, the Boogeyman could be fucked this time around.
Halloween Kills starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Nick Castle, James Jude Courtney, Anthony Michael Hall, and Kyle Richards hacks its way into theaters on October 15, 2021.
