Shit Is Going Down! Michael Myers Returns In The First Trailer For Halloween Kills
Hello nerds,
Once upon a time, we were set to enjoy another installment of the Halloween franchise around this time of year. Unfortunately, due to the current status of the world, Halloween Kills has been delayed until next year. However, the studio did release a teaser for the movie, and it doesn’t look terrible.
The first trailer was released during BlumFest’s virtual panel for the movie, and it teases a bit of a showdown at a local hospital. Which, if you’re up on your Halloween history, is a direct callback to 1981’s Halloween 2. Except this time, it’s canon.
We see the returning Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), Karen Nelson (Judy Greer) and Allyson Nelson (Andi Matichak) as they deal with the aftermath of Michael Myers’ latest murder-spree. Also, there’s a shot of the boogeyman himself finding his mask (which is outside for some reason) before he gets back to killing. And we see Anthony Michael Hall taking over the role of Tommy Doyle from John Carpenter’s original Halloween. Plus, Kyle Richards makes her return to the franchise as another one of Michael’s would-be victims from 1978 , Lindsey Wallace.
David Gordon Green returns to the director’s chair for this one, and he’ll be back in that same capacity for the finale to his and Danny McBride’s Halloween trilogy with Halloween Ends, due in 2022.
Halloween Kills hacks its way into theaters on October 15, 2021.
