Guess Who's Back, Back Again? The Rise Of Skywalker Has Another Surprise Return
Hello nerds!
If a recent rumor is to be believed, the original Star Wars gang will all be in the next movie.
We’ve know for some time that Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker would feature the return of Luke, Leia, Lando and a few others, fantastic, I know. And since (spoilers) Han Solo was killed in The Force Awakens, we made the assumption that Harrison Ford’s days of playing the universe’s favorite space smuggler were over. As it happens, we made asses out of umption.
Per a report from Making Star Wars, beloved curmudgeon, Harrison Ford, will indeed return for The Rise of Skywalker. In short, Kylo against reaches out to his grandfather, Darth Vader via his helmet, to show him the way. Well, new Force Ghost, Luke Skywalker, intervenes and goes all Dream Master by conjuring Ben Solo’s pappy to tell him, “it isn't too late". If this is true, first, wow!
Second, it seems there’s still some conflict in Kylo Ren afterall. So, maybe the title of Episode IX has more to do with Ben Solo’s return to the light, than it does making Rey a Skywalker? Only a few months remain until we find out for certain. And now the utterly superb Avengers:Endgame is in theaters, we can shift our focus towards Disney’s other big franchise, Star Wars.
Which is made all the easier after the mindblowing first teaser that showed Rey doing some of the coolest Jedi shit ever. Plus, the maniacal laughter of Emperor Palpatine, adds an extra layer of “holy shit”. In the meantime, let the speculation commence about what we can expect in the closing chapter to the Skywalker saga.
Star Wars Episode IX:The Rise of Skywalker blasts into theaters on December 20, 2019.
