It's A Bird. It's A Plane. It's The Witcher. Here's A Look At Henry Cavill As Geralt

Hello nerds!

Netflix’s The Witcher is looking to fill the gaping Game of Thrones-sized hole in pop culture. Based on the fantasy series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher has all the requisite elements we’ve come to expect: Mystical places, magical people, a princess, mythical creatures and monsters, and so on.

And considering Netflix snagged Henry Cavill as its star, the series was off to a pretty great start. Then we got our first look at Hank as Geralt of Rivia confirming, that much like Superman, Cavill was born to play this role. Plus, they released the first images of Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer, and Freya Allan as princess Ciri.

Trailer please.

Let’s hope the eight episode first season lives up to the growing hype. There’s a wealth of backstory to choose from for a multi-season run, so Netflix might really have something special with The Witcher. Plus, it’s not like Cavill doesn’t have some free time in his schedule. For those unfamiliar, Cavill is no longer Superman.

Starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer, and Freya Allan as princess Ciri, The Witcher should premiere on Netflix sometime this fall. So, it’s likely a trailer will be released at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
