You Had Me At Henry Cavill & Swordplay. Here's The Trailer For Netflix's The Witcher

Hello nerds!

With a complete lack of new Game of Thrones to watch, Netflix’s The Witcher could be just the thing we’ve been looking for.

Based on the fantasy series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher boasts a compelling story, magic, a princess, a handsome hero, witchcraft, mythical creatures, monsters, and so on. And since Netflix released the first images of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer, and Freya Allan as princess Ciri, anticipation to see some footage from the series grew.

Thanks to SDCC, we’ve got the first trailer and from the looks of it, fans of the franchise, and those whom enjoy the beefy charm of the one they used to call Superman, will be pleased.

The Witcher premieres on Netflix later this year.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
