Kirk Who? Jean-Luc Picard Returns In An All-New Series Starring Sir Patrick Stewart
Hello nerds!
Fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation should be very happy right about now. One of the most beloved sci-fi characters of all-time is coming back.
Sir Patrick Stewart officially announced he is returning to the Star Trek universe as one Captain Jean-Luc Picard in an all-new series for CBS All Access. Holy effing shit.
As if a new season of Star Trek: Discovery wasn't enough for the streaming service, they go and dust off one of Star Trek's greatest characters.
Alex Kurtzman heads the creative team for the second Star Trek series to hit CBS All Access and while to THR, Kurtzman sounds over the moon about working with Sir Patrick Stewart to bring Jean-Luc Picard back to TV.
Oh, consider us surprised alright.
A premiere date has not been set, but we can hope for a 2019 debut along the second season of Discovery. Plot details for the new Jean-Luc show are more than a little scarce at this point, but they don't really matter.
All anyone really needs to know is Patrick Stewart is back for all-new adventures of Jean-Luc Picard and it's a fair bet the show will pick up after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis. So, let's hope Brent Spiner returns as B-4/Data when the show premieres on CBS All Access. Wil Wheaton can stay home.
As hilarious as it would be to hear Jean-Luc verbally slap the taste out of his mouth one more time, there's no need to suffer through an middle-aged Wesley Crusher. We can stroll down memory lane courtesy of the Youtube for the greatest hits.
Say it with me, "Shut up, Wesley".
