Maybe The Sarlacc Was Full? Temuera Morrison Is Boba Fett In The Mandalorian Season 2
Hello nerds!
It seems the long-running rumors/speculations/hopes of the “original” Mandalorian bounty hunter would one day return to the Star Wars universe are coming true.
Per a report from THR, Temuera Morrison will play the legendary Boba Fett in Season 2 of the non-stop, sci-fi action thrillride that is The Mandalorian on Disney+. Morrison is no stranger to the Family Fett, as he played father of all clones Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, as well as voicing both Jango and Boba Fett in several Star Wars video games. Of course, this news likely isn’t too surprising for fans of The Mandalorian.
At the end of "Chapter 5: The Gunslinger", a set of boots wandered up to the body of Fennec Shand laying in the sands of Tatooine. Since then, rumors ran wild the mysterious figure could be the pop culture icon, Boba Fett. Happily, it would seem those boots were indeed made for walking, and disintegrations. While this is great news for some of us, there are those whom will feel quite different. I’m sure the choice to bring Boba “back from the dead”, will be as decisive as any other issue Star Wars fans argue about.
For those unfamiliar, Boba Fett seemingly met his demise in Return of the Jedi, by way of being digested for a thousand years in stomach of the Sarlacc on Tatooine (during the rescue of a certain scruffy looking, nerf herder). And seeing as The Mandalorian takes place following the events of Return of The Jedi, Fett did indeed survive his swan dive. At any rate, I’m excited to see what happens when he returns.
Temuera Morrison joins a stacked cast of faces, both old and new, as we should likely see what happened between Boba Fett and Ming Na Wen’s Fennec Shand. Undoubtedly, Boba Fett will come face to face with Din Djarin (The Mandalorian), played by Pedro Pascal, and the child (Baby Yoda). Not to mention, we’re going to see the returns of Cara Dune played by Gina Carano, Carl Weathers as Greef Carga, and the supremely badass IG-11 voiced by Taika Waititi.
Plus, Rosario Dawson is rumored to appear as the first live-action incarnation of Anakin Skywalker's former padawan and Jedi badass, Ahsoka Tano. Sadly, Dawson has yet to be confirmed for the series.
The Mandalorian Season 2 is currently set for premiere in October 2020, on Disney+.
