Michael Myers Is Alive! Two New Halloween Movies Are In Development
Hello nerds,
Well it confirmed, Michael Myers is alive and will be seen again in 2020 and 2021. Universal has confirmed the second and third installments of Bumhouse’s reboot of John Carpenter’s Halloween franchise. David Gordon Green will be back in the Director’s chair for both of these sequels. The two films will finally bring the Halloween saga to a close, with the end of Michael Myers. Each installment appears to have already been named, “Halloween Kills” and “Halloween Ends”.
The continuation of the series will again feature original star Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode taking on her long time nemesis Michael Myers. This reboot was to be expected after last year’s Halloween became the highest-grossing installment in the horror franchise, pulling in a staggering $255 million worldwide. An amount usually unheard of for a horror film.
A teaser trailer released by the studio gives a tiny glimpse of what’s to come. Granted, the footage doesn't reveal too much information beyond respective release dates, but does answer our question of whether or not Michael did survive the end of Halloween. Set to the iconic Halloween piano theme, the teaser shows footage of Laurie's burning house — where she, her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) trapped Michael at the end of Halloween in hopes of murdering him — as well as shots of the killer looking very much alive.
The films are set to be released on October 16, 2020 and October 15, 2021, respectively. However, this news is preliminary and will always be subject to change. Fear not Nerds, we here at Children of the Adams will keep you posted of any changes.
