Sweet Christmas... In June. Luke Cage Season 2 Premiere Date Announced!
Hello nerds!
As much as Marvel is determined to make us drool in anticipation during the coming weeks for the release of Infinity War, they're also doing a bang up job of reminding folks they have some really good shows on Netflix.
With Jessica Jones' second season being available in a couple of days, Marvel dropped a surprise announcement on us by way of a teaser and synopsis for the Luke Cage Season 2. And folks, Luke Cage does not appear to be fucking around.
Fantastic! I'm quite looking forward to this new season and seeing how they continue to flesh Harlem's Hero out. Luke Cage's first outing was a lot of fun to watch and holds up pretty well upon multiple viewings. And I think we all can agree the same cannot be said for all Marvel shows.
Luke Cage Season 1 did have its issues, but they primarily occurred after they killed off one Cornell Stokes aka Cottonmouth, portrayed brilliantly by Mahershala Ali. Yeah, spoilers I know. Arguably, Mariah had to kill Cottonmouth to progress her own evolution into a villain, but they really should've waited another season or two to do so. But on the bright side, following the events of The Defenders, maybe a possible team-up could happen. With Luke Cage back in Harlem and Danny Rand looking over Hell's Kitchen for Daredevil, maybe it's not too much to hope for a small Heroes For Hire run in Luke's second season.
New episodes of Luke Cage will be available on June 22, 2018.
For pudding, here's a still from the upcoming season and as you can see Misty Knight is back in the fight. With her bionic fucking arm!
