From Jedi Master To Murder Doll. Mark Hamill Is The New Voice Of Chucky
Hello nerds!
It seems we might have a reason to see the upcoming Child’s Play reboot. As it so happens, the man they call Luke Skywalker is the new frickin’ Chucky. Holy shit.
Mark Hamill made a surprise announcement via Twitter, and those hoping for some news about the final chapter to the Skywalker saga, got a bit of a shock. Tatooine’s favorite son will in fact be putting his vast voice over talents to work as the new pipes of the murderous doll.
Fascinating.
For those unfamiliar, this reboot of the cult classic franchise will focus on a group of kids who face off against a "technologically-advanced doll". Think Stranger Things vs a redheaded mini-Terminator. And considering the somewhat disappointing first trailer, this news does indeed spark an interest in seeing this movie. While there’s nobody who could replace Brad Dourif as one Charles Lee Ray, Mark Hamill is about as perfect as a casting as you could as for. His work as The Joker in just about every DC animated series or movie (the best ones IMO), is iconic in its own right. He brings a certain exuberance to the mania of the Joker and arguably Hamill is the best person to have ever played the Clown Prince of Crime. So, I’m all for hearing what he can do as a stabby toy gone bad.
