Marvel's Iron Fist Season 2 Teases The Fantastic Four's Arrival?
Hello nerds!
Courtesy of a more than intriguing teaser from the second season of Marvel’s In Iron Fist on Netflix, it seems the future home of Reed & Sue Richards, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm is “under construction”.
Near the end of Episode 6, The Dragon Dies at Dawn, Danny Rand tracks down his best frenemy, Davos, to a building that’s currently under construction. Well, it’s here Davos the latter kicks the absolute shit out of Danny and leaves him in a heap of himself. Luckily for Danny, Mary Walker shows up to save him and after dragging his ass to safety, she calls for an ambulance and the location she gives is an EXACT reference to Marvel’s first family.
You see, Mary tells the operator they’re at "42 Baxter", and as fans of the comics will tell you, the home of the Fantastic Four, aka the Baxter Building, is located at 42nd and Madison.
Oo-De-Lally!
We’ve known for some time know, the X-Men and Fantastic Four are coming home to the MCU. Rejoice, right? I say, whoa there friends, as Reed Richard & Friends making their debut in the MCU is still a ways off. Deals of this magnitude take a long time to finalize, and Disney can't yet start working on anything from the X-Men or the Fantastic Four. Yet. Sadly, we’ll not be seeing anything mutanty or fantastic in the MCU, for quite awhile.
No matter when the X-Men are rebooted in the MCU following the Dark Phoenix or where the Fantastic Four debut, this is a MAJOR tease and it’s unlikely this one was worked in without express permission. I know the tease in Spider-Man: Homecoming had a lot of people thinking Reed Richards would be the new owner of the former Avengers tower, but this is way cooler. Besides, it fully opens the possibility of Norman Osbourne buying the old Avengers tower and making it the new home of Oscorp.
No matter how everything shakes out, the minds behind the new and fantastic season of Iron Fist were able to deliver a huge surprise to Marvel fans.
Season 2 of Marvel’s Iron Fist is available on Netflix.
